Review content:
These are nice folks I have used for years and have been totally happy with the service... but recently experienced major sticker shock with their estimates for some very simple repairs. Examples: Quoted $85 to replace a leaky outdoor hose bibb (took me 3 min. to replace it myself with a $9 bibb from home depot and a simple wrench from my toolbox). Quoted $261 to replace another leaky hose bibb (I fixed with a couple of $4 adaptors and a tube of putty.) Charged $125 for 10 min. labor to unscrew and replace a bathtub drain that I furnished (it turns out the local hardware has the $12 wrench and putty I could have bought to replace it.) Quoted $142 to replace a sink strainer (I replaced with a new $7 strainer from the local hardware.) In all fairness this may be typical for all plumbing companies nowadays, but my advice is to get multiple quotes, and do as many simple plumbing repairs yourself as possible!
