We left an email message on Sunday, expecting a call back Monday, a work-day. we got a response within less than an hour---not an automated one, but a personal one. They recognized that, in the middle of the hottest period of that past few months, AC out of service should be addressed immediately and offered to have their dispatcher re-arrange whatever was possible to bring in a technician Monday. We agreed that it was not such an emergency, so a Wednesday appointment was arranged. The techs, Eric and Carlos, showed up about 25 minutes into the two-hour window they had promised for the appointment. They listened to what information I could give them about what I had observed , and decided quickly where they would start, asking, not telling. Very polite. We began outside at the condensing unit, and Eric quickly walked me through his diagnostic protocol, which made sense, answered my questions, and set to work. His obvious experience led to a very prompt diagnosis, but he was careful to check for other common, latent faults. He noticed a slight loss of refrigerant pressure, indicating a leak, but not catastrophic...he was able to immediately tell me my choices, the consequences and costs. He offered a simple perspective on the relative severity of the problem, and respectfully left it to me. It was very matter of fact and professional. There was no pressure or attempt to discomfort me. He agreed, while there, to take a quick look at the indoor components, to put a trained eye on the system and preempt an imminent failures. He took the time to answer all my questions, and they were more than a few. He was very knowledgeable and very engaging, thoroughly professional, and i will not hesitate to ask them back, for preventive as well as any repair work.. These folks are definitely in it for the long game. And I was surprised, by the way, how reasonable was their charge out rate for labor.
