With an army of low price "big box" electronics stores out there, little local Sound City has to make it on expert advice and amazing service. I have spent a bit of money at Sound City because I wanted advice and service. But I haven't been there for a while because their service and advice do not (in my opinion) out weight the price penalty. Believe me, I have tried to support a local business. For instance, recently we bought a commonly available big screen Sony TV. Sound City could not come near the deal from Best Buy (price, payment terms, quick delivery). I did go there to buy some cables to hook the surround sound but they didn't have what I needed and price would have been nearly double the Best Buy price if they did have it in stock.
They stay in business so I guess people shop there but I have moved on.
