Review content:
Both Lenny and Kevin are very knowledgeable, helpful, and personable. They arrived exactly on time and, prior to bringing any tools into the house, took the time to meet us and to explain in detail what steps they would be performing. We actually enjoyed talking with them, and learned quite a bit about our house that we hadn't known. They were very thorough, testing the efficiency of the boiler and finding the sources of any air leaks. They checked every light fixture in the house and suggested which twenty-five bulbs we would benefit most by replacing with the free LED bulbs. We asked them to install a few extra bulbs, which they did at a price we found to be cheaper than buying the bulbs at a big-box home improvement store. The techs climbed through the attic, then suggested installation of a sturdy styrofoam "box" above the attic hatchway to eliminate a major air leak. We had them do this, again for a surprisingly reasonable cost. They caulked, weather-stripped, put on door sweeps, changed two water-wasting showerheads for low-flow ones, and I'm sure did many other things I can't remember. Before leaving, they recapped their work and suggested ways we could save money. They were careful to be neat, and made sure to leave the house as clean as it was when they came. We had hesitated to have an energy audit done, fearing that our 1960's house would need a lot of expensive work done to make it energy efficient, but the report that arrived by email the next day provided a pleasant surprise. The house scored much higher than we could have hoped for, and by installing more attic insulation we can save even more money. I am happy to report that the cost of the audit is more than offset by the "free" materials we received, even before adding in the value of Lenny and Kevin's labor and expertise.
