Quick Review - Great value, very clean, wonderful staff, will be our go-to pet-friendly hotel in the Youngstown area!\r \r Long Review - Our daughter is a student-athlete at YSU, so we are in Youngstown regularly, and have been staying in hotels in the Youngstown area 6-8 times a year for the last two years. Our ""regular"" hotel is the Hampton in Boardman, which offers a discounted rate for families of YSU students. For this trip (our daughter's birthday) we decided to bring our 6-year-old golden retriever. Only a handful of hotels in the Boardman area allow pets, and based on TA reviews, none seemed to provide an acceptable combination of price and quality. The reviews on TA for the Comfort Inn in Austintown looked good, and the price and pet fees were both very reasonable.\r \r Room - Desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. I requested a room that did not face the highway, and he gladly obliged. Room faced the courtyard/pool, which was nice and quiet, and actually would have probably been a great place to hang our had it not been the dead of winter. Maybe another time. Room was spotless!! I cannot emphasize enough how clean this property was. After seeing some traveler photos of other hotels in this price range, I was really nervous that we would be dealing with rusty bathroom fixtures, stained linens and carpets, and peeling wallpaper/paint. We opened the door to the room, and all worries immediately disappeared. Room was well maintained and very clean. Everything worked. Bed was clean and comfortable, shower was hot and had great pressure. Even had a multi-setting shower massage head. Flat-screen TV, microwave, fridge. Our daughter decided to spend the night with us, so I set up an inflatable mattress. Room was plenty big for this. I asked the desk clerk for a set of sheets and a blanket, and he quickly and happily brought them to the room.\r \r Staff - I encountered several employees in the time we stayed - desk clerks, maintenance personnel, breakfast attendants, and housekeepers. All were extremely friendly. Very good staff!\r \r Breakfast - Another pleasant surprise. We actually went out for breakfast, but I did take a look at the breakfast setup, got some coffee and ate an egg disk and sausage link. The breakfast is just as good as others I have had at hotels costing twice as much. Offerings included cold cereal, fruit, assorted pastries/bagels, oatmeal, juices, yogurt, make-your-own waffles in two flavors, and the aforementioned egg disks and sausage links. Very clean space, very friendly attendant, and nice selection.\r \r Pet-friendly - The area had just received another significant round of snow, and with a dog, I spent quite a bit of time tromping around the courtyard in it. The pet fee here is very reasonable, and the courtyard is a nice area to take your pet for his business.\r \r Summary - As I mentioned in the title, I think this property is worth every penny. There's nothing I like more than a great value, and this property is definitely that. So good that my wife and I have already discussed making this our new ""regular"" hotel, even when we don't bring the dog.
