On the weekend of July 15th and 16th I researched the prices of Santa Fe Sport in my area. I narrowed my search down to 3 dealerships, including Gurnee Hyundai. I sent a request and was called by the sales team.
I was presented an offer of $22k, I asked additional questions and was told because I have family members in my household I would be entitled to and additional $1K along with any of the other applicable discounts on the website I was qualified for.
On Tuesday I left work based on our discussions and went to the dealership to complete the sale. The sales manager on duty advised me the information I received was not accurate and the car I was buying did not qualify for any other promotions. I explained this is not what I was told.
His response to me was " that's my final offer and you can take it or leave as a friend". I am disappointed as on numerous occasions I asked the person who spoke to me on Monday by phone if the information was correct and he assured me if I visit the dealership they would take care of me.
The service I received lacked the human touch and the sales manager was not accommodating and showed no empathy. I was basically told to leave and to make things worst the guys at the front of the store all laughed at the interaction.
I love your brand and wanted to walk away with a new Santa fe Sport or the new 2018 Sonata and now I am wondering if this is the service Hyundai USA approve of.
I wanted to share my experience so you can address this situation with the dealership as no other customer should be treated like this.
When I go to a dealership I expect to negotiate in good faith and be treated fairly and with Dignity........that did not happen here
