If all you need is someone to navigate you through the court systems in an uncontested divorce/custody situation, he MIGHT be able to handle that. However, if you need someone to stand up for you, get what you deserve, dispute ridiculous motions thrown at you by the other side, bill correctly, return phone calls, inform you of court dates and more importantly date CHANGES, he is not the lawyer you need. I showed up to court several times when the date had been changed only to be informed by the opposing lawyer that is had been set for a different date. I was billed for phone calls never made to me and for emails that bounced because THEY spelled the address incorrectly, and then I was billed for the phone call I made to dispute those charges. I attempted SEVERAL TIMES to discuss these disputed fees with Mr. Compton directly but could never get a call back from him. I was left to file a Fee Dispute Resolution with The North Carolina State Bar. He responded that he would waive the disput
