Review content:
I decided to try out 84 Lumber after having seen their ad at Superbowl time. Any company that would go out on a limb in this crazy political environment deserves some business. So, when I needed to buy a new screen door, I headed over. The experience was ... interesting. Nobody there could give me a price of the door. They had to take the information and send it (call? fax? turtle) to the company. I'm not sure why they couldn't just have a price list. Oh well. Anyway, nobody called me back with a price. I called them back and eventually got a price. The price was much much lower than Depot or Lowes! I went back in to place the order as they don't have access to 21st century technology. They never called to let me know it was in. Finally I called and found out it had been sitting there. I'm not sure how they expected me to know it was in.
Anyway, upshot? Poor service, limited selection, great prices if you can deal with their limitations. I've learned from this first time through how to proceed, so if I have another large project and don't want to get gouged by the box stores, I'll go back.
