Review content:
I recently moved to Kansas and went thru a nightmare experience with my calico. My new boss' sister was a vet from another state who offered to declaw my cat while she was in town for a visit. Without knowing many people in the area and not yet having established care with a regular vet, I made the mistake of trusting her. Talk about the worst mistake of my life! She performed the surgery and left town without giving me any pain medications, antibiotics or recovery instructions. When my cat was not healing, I decided to take her to Cherokee Cat Clinic for a check-up. I was devastated to learn that the first surgery was badly botched. The doctors at Cherokee were a God-send. They performed a reparative surgery to correct the previous mistakes. During the healing process they worked with me on a plan for recovery and were very involved--letting me bring in my little trooper for weekly check-ups and doing additional surgery to stretch out the damaged areas, all for free. The doctors themselves called my home following each procedure to ask about my cat's progress, and they always made me feel like they have all the time I need to ask questions and get things explained. They were sympathetic and supportive, as I grieved over the undue suffering my cat had experienced and the guilt of having placed her in less than competent hands. The staff copied documents and provided me the information I needed to report the first vet. My experience at Cherokee Cat clinic really was the sunshine after the storm.
Pros: caring staff, quality service, up-to-date technology
Cons: high traffic area
