Floorgem Services came recommended to us by another flooring company who said that they were the best of the best, and we believed them. They were friendly, polite, and really did good work - for the most part. The floor, as a whole looks great and they did work very hard. However, there are 2 different places with mistakes that I thought they should have paid more attention to before moving on and completing the job. Neither one is terribly bad - but they are enough to wonder why/how they got overlooked. First - there is a portion of the floor that is actually banked off at an angle from the rest of the hardwood, and you can see that the pieces are not aligned. It's not a huge deal, but it is noticeable. I would think that when someone does this everyday - it should have been caught. The other area isn't really that big right now either, but it could lead to some major concerns, even possible injury. There is a spot by the edging - right where the floor meets up with the bottom of the staircase area - and a little sliver of wood sticks up vertically above the horizontal edging of the floor. It just sticks up right there; a little splinter. It's tiny and eventually, being right there at the bottom step, someone's gonna catch it. I cringe just thinking about it and all the problems it could create. Overall, I think they did a great job, the floor looks nice, and I would still recommend them.
