Two years ago, I was in search of a quality tree service company that had a strong background in tree maintenance – one that included expertise in the area of canopy management.
The term tree canopy management is probably not familiar to most people, but is certainly one of the most important tree management practices. If a tree canopy is left to grow unmanaged, sunlight and air may not reach enough of the tree leaf surfaces to support optimum growth and vigor. Improper growth could also weaken the tree.
The practice involves the targeted pruning, thinning and selective removal of branches, shoots and other unwanted parts of trees in order to promote their development, over time, into strong and healthy trees. It is not the indiscriminative removal of plant material designed to “shape” or rapidly provide correction to problem areas.
During our initial discussions, TNT personnel took the time to carefully explain what was needed now and what work would have to wait until the trees responded to their pruning and thinning. They were careful to explain that following their work, my trees would admit enough light promote improved vegetative growth and branches would now support and stronger scaffold system for the trees. I was impressed with their approach (and affordable price), so the work began.
Two years later and I am happy to report that my trees responded beyond what I expected. Canopy growth and tree health were exceptional. It was now time to thin the canopies again. Just as before, TNT went over what they planned for the trees during this phase of their growth in order to continue the successful maturity of the trees. They finished their work today and all the trees look great. They were prompt (as before) and did a great clean-up job as well. I now have beautiful strong trees that look forward to their next two years of growth.
I can say that TNT continues to demonstrate they are well versed in proper tree management practices. I would recommend TNT to anyone interested in quality tree care for their property – at a very affordable price.
