Review content:
I had a plumber from John's Plumbing & Pumps come out in spring 2007 because I had a leak in the hot water pipe in an old house with quirky plumbing. His estimate was $13,300.00 and included tasks like removing the back porch, breaking through the concrete floor of the pump house, installing a new water heater that would have to be INSIDE, all new plumbing, etc. The charge for just the diagnosis and estimate was $147. Thank god I got a second opinion from Brooks! Paul Lightfoot from Brooks was super nice and had a good sense of humor about the old plumbing system and figuring out how it all worked. He was happy to make the repair necessary and never tried to talk me into any unnecessary repairs which I could not afford (e.g., the original water heater was working great). Total to fix my problem was $800--a far cry from the $13,000 I was quoted by the other company!! I called them again in spring of 2008 and Paul installed a new well pressure tank for me. I gave him a big tip for doing such great work--highly recommend him.
