My husband and I did the unthinkable - we actually bought a puppy from a pet store! (The Pet Warehouse). We are responsible people, and we know that buying directly from a breeder is the way to go.....but we fell in love with one of the puppies. I can't say that I ever regretted buying our dog because she is such a special part of our family; but there is no doubt in my mind that she came from a puppy mill. When we received her papers a few months later, they indicated that before she even arrived at the pet store, she had been to two other kennels! That means that before the age of 8 weeks, she had been shipped all over the place. She is from Kansas, which is notorious for puppy mills. I don't wish that we had never visited The Pet Wharehouse because I love our puppy with all of my heart.....but I will never ever patronize their establishment again, or any other pet store that sells dogs. So please, help shut down puppy mills and DON'T buy from them.
