This is the kind of place everybody wants to find: friendly, reliable mechanics that actually care about their customers. Aside from doing great work, another thing that is really important to me, is that my mechanics are not doing unnecessary "repairs". On more than one occasion, I went in to Howards because I thought some maintenance needed to be done, and I've had them take a look at my car and actually turn me away because the work didn't really need to be done yet. "Come back in another 10,000 and it will be time." They sell tires at Howards also, so I was really surprised when I got the same treatment when I thought I needed a new set of tires. I was assured the tires were safe for another 6 months. After another 6months (to a year) of use on that pair, I did go back to them for new tires. In fact, I've been to them for a wide variety of work over the last 6 years on a variety of cars. Most recently, I was there to have a repair done that was CAUSED by another Williamsburg shop (
