Tex Art Stone was recommended to me by a landscaping company. My first visit was very pleasant and my second visit was even better. It was unlike any other retail shopping experience I have ever had. What I mean is, it is definitely self-service and unique in it's procedures. You drive onto a weigh-in ramp to see what your vehicle's weight is before loading merchandise. Then, you drive down rows of boulders, soil, mulch, etc. until you find what you like. They will provide you a map listing all products, costs and location. There is one area that is off limits to customer vehicles, but they offer to move your selection to your vehicle on a fork lift. After you make a selection, you load the merchandise into your vehicle and then drive onto the weight ramp again to determine how many pounds you have loaded into your vehicle. The last step is to park, walk into the small office and pay for the merchandise...pretty cool! I found the office personnel very helpful in explaining procedures and answering my questions. Outside, while searching, selecting and loading, the employees were extremely helpful in answering questions, making suggestions, locating, identifying, and offering forklift assistance. This may not sound like a fun activity for some people, but I really enjoyed wandering around discovering the variety of stones and boulders they have in stock. It was really fun to hunt through the mounds, searching for types, sizes and shapes of stones for my landscape. The best part of this whole experience is that I found the perfect natural stones that are never available in any home improvement retail stores. And, at an amazingly reasonable price!!! Too bad I never knew this place existed. For many years I have paid ridiculously high prices for a very limited selection of pre-fab and machine manufactured landscape borders at all the home improvement retail stores. I recommend Tex Art Stone to anyone who wants a unique and naturally beautiful landscaped lawn.
