Steer clear of BD Movers at all costs! We had Tony Baumer, owner come out for an estimate. Our planned move was from Manahawkin to Tavernier Florida. We liked what he had to say and contracted with him back in May for a July 5 move. Followed up at least twice in the interim and was assured that all was in order. On Friday July 1, prior to long weekend we called again to ensure that we were to be picked up early on July 5. Steven, dispatcher, told us it was etched in stone and they would be there first thing on Tuesday morning, July 5.
Tuesday morning July 5 - no movers. Called at 10;30 and Steven told us he would check into it and call us back. No phone call. Called again around 11:30 and he said he was looking into it and would call us back. We asked to talk to Tony and was told he would call us. Still no call back so around noon we called for the third time. Steven told us that somehow it had slipped through the crack and that truck driver was on the road. Jason Murray - truck driver called followed by Henry Murray. They said they we never notified and they were looking into when they could move us. Henry said he would call latter that night.
We never go a call back from Tony Baumer, owner. Never got a call back from Henry Murray either. Repeated emails get answered by Tony but not once did he accept accountability or responsibility for this horrendous mistake. He called it a glitch and couldn't understand why we were so upset because movers did not show up on our preferred day.
We were all packed up and ready to roll on our retirement move. We had three different families depending on us to move and we had to push them all back! Just a glitch? I think not. Gross incompetence and lack of integrity appear to be the case here. I would not ever let BD Movers ever into my house. WE went we a large nationwide mover.
