Our 9 month old yorkie was recently diagnosed with a liver shunt. There was not a specialist in our town that was able to perform the surgery. We were referred to Westvet. From the very first phone call to Westvet, we were treated with respect and kindness. We drove nearly 300 miles to see the doctors there. Our dog ended up being hospitalized over night, and sent home on meds for 1 week to prepare him for surgery. The next week, we returned for the CT and the operation. Every visit, before we left we were given a cost estimate. There was never a time that we were unaware of what the cost would be. While the hospitalization, and the surgery were costly, it was worth every penny, and seemed to be right on track with clinic charges at other facilities. We felt very comfortable leaving our pet in their care. Everyone there was very good at what they do. Not only did they treat our very sick dog, but they also took very good care of us. Having to visit an animal hospital with a critically ill or injured pet is very scary, but Westvet made a terrible situation so much better.
