Review content:
I was a little worried about staying at the hotel after reading all of the poor reviews. However, I wanted a handicapped accessible room on the lake and this was one of the only places I could find. First - Kids loved the pool area. It was clean and everything was in working order. Second - This is not a Marrioit and you are not paying Marriott prices. $125 for a weekend night directly on the lake is a very fair price to pay and you shouldn't expect perfection and galore. The rooms were clean. Yes, they had minor flaws. A few spots with wrinkles in the carpet and a couple of spot where the wallpaper was starting to pull away. However, like I said. This is not a Marriott with bellhops putting out their hand for $5 every five minutes. If you want Marriiott quality rooms, then pay Marriott prices. Third - The continental breakfast was excellent. Hot eggs, hash browns, sausage gravy and biscuits, corn beef hash, sausage.....Plus plenty of muffins, fruit and beverages. A nice older women kept the food hot and the area clean. Not enough seating but I just took my meal back to the room. Fourth - Excellent service. Did they make mistakes? You betcha. But they made sure to make things right. They were supposed to serve hot cookies and milk one night but the kitchen got behind. When I went to the restaurant to find out where the cookies were, they apologized and sent me a full plate of brownies. The resaurant had excellent food and the waitresses were very prompt. It took a little longer than usual to get our food. I think they were short on cooks but we were drinking and enjoying the view so we weren't in any hurry. Fifth - It was a little noisy one night after a wedding reception as they opened up the pool after midnight for them to use. We were on the first floor so that is the only time that we were disturbed. After reading all of the negative comments and getting worried about a ruined vacation, I knew that I had to post after our stay. Normally, I do not post unless something is terrible which is what most people do. We will definitely stay again. \r
