Review content:
Bivouac is a great store, a cut above REI and several cuts above most other outfitters. People say it's expensive, but the prices are suggested retail and often on sale. Plus, it's easy enough to get any price matched that you bring in, so stop crying about the expense. This equipment is expensive everywhere as it's highly technical. If your looking for a cheap winter coat to wear around town and you're used to Walmart pricing, go to Walmart. If you're looking for clothes that will last ten times as long, come with warranties, and protect you in the harshest of climates, this is the place to buy it.
