Review content:
Brought my car to action auto with a vaccum leak in the upper mainfold. Was told price of repair would between 800 and 900 dollars. I agreed. The next day they told me lower manifold was "not serviceable" and the price had jumped to $1700. This should have been caught in original diagnosis and I said dont do any work as I will be taking the car elsewhere for second opinion. They told me work had started and it would cost me $500 just to get the car back with the same problems it had when I brought it in. I have since taken the car to another shop where it turns out the part action claimed was "not serviceable" was indeed fine and that work was completed at half the cost. I am now in the process of getting a refund from Action either through the Bureau of Automotive repair or small claims court. The mechanic who actually repaired my car was disgusted by the work Action did on my engine ( epoxy on the manifold and zip ties holding the runners open) and will sign a testimonial saying Action totally misled me by doubling the original estimate. My limited experience with Action Auto leaves me with the feeling that they are VERY shady.
