I work at a deli where the owner is such a penny pincher that he had NEVER sharpened the blade on the meat slicer in over 10 years. It was dull, very dull. I didn't realize how dull, until one day I literally stole the meat slicer, took it to Nobile Saw Works, and had them sharpen the circular blade, and send the bill to Sam's Sub Shop on Fulton Ave. It cost a whopping 5 bucks, I could see why the owner wouldn't pay, such an outrageous price for such a needless thing (sarcasm). When I put the slicer back together, and used it to cut the frozen beef we use for steak sandwiches, I was absolutely amazed at how easily it was cutting the meat. A one thousand percent improvement. I used to have to push as hard as I could (I bench about 225), for about 5 seconds per slice, now it cut through with no effort at all. Cut production time in more than half.
