Review content:
(Store Manager) informed us that it was mandatory that we sign up for the insurance for the first 14 days and it would be an $11 charge for each line to the bill. We made it clear we didn’t want any insurance but he said we couldn’t get the phones without it because of their 14 day return policy. (This is definitely a lie) I even asked a different employee and they said the same thing so all employees use the same deceitful tactics to get you to leave with as much as possible. I called Verizon and they removed this right away and made sure we were not charged for anything.
Also, once we got home my dad showed me the bill that was supposed to be only taxes. Well, there were (2) $19.99 charges to “set up and go”. Not only did not tell us about that charge and just added it to the tally, he didn’t even set anything up. I had to do everything. I called the store and asked him to remove the charges. At first he said that the charges were taxes, well that just made me mad, it’s pretty clear they are not and since when did Ohio and Stark County raise their taxes to almost 10%. I changed the subject back to the setup and said I had to do everything then he stumbled over his words and said he did do the set ups and that he couldn’t remove the charges. (caught in another lie). I argued for another 10 minutes until he said “It’s not that I won’t remove the charges I can’t”. The only thing he could offer me is a discount in his store. I called Verizon and they gave me a $40.00 bill credit even though this indirect retailer charged me not them.
Verizon informed me that they cannot do business like this and it would be addressed immediately. Especially because this was the store manager and all his employees are doing the same thing. In the mean time I would stay away from this location and always question everything. Thank You Verizon for you great customer service.
