Review content:
This review is for Nicole Harvey, Attorney and Harvey Law Firm. I retained her for two contract cases involving employment. She seemed very positive about a successful outcome and excited to take on the case, so I hired her and paid a $5,000.00 retainer. The first step involved sending letters and waiting for a response, so nothing happened for a while. I then had some questions about the case that needed to be resolved, so I could make some timely decisions. I tried to contact her dozens of times with no response. I called, emailed, even went to her office. No response. Finally, she responded weeks later, and I am not sure why I stayed with her at that point except that she seemed to honestly have felt bad about not responding to me sooner. The most disconcerting part of hiring her was after more than $10,000.00 into the case she basically stopped supporting me and the case. She even went so far as to say it was a policy issue not a contract issue. She claimed she could do nothing. The law had not changed and the facts had not changed, only her understanding of the law had changed after all that money was spent. She misunderstood several key facts in the contracts. As a final note, in case you might think it was really that I couldn’t understand this complex contract language, the check she wrote to refund some of the money I paid her in advance was written incorrectly. Even the bank teller knew that the legal amount of a check is the amount written in words, not the amount written in numbers. That cost me an additional nine dollars.
