I recently took a chance and stayed at the Sheraton on a package deal through SunTrips. We flew directly into Kona from Oakland.
The Sheraton in Kona has been completely refurbished. Its absolutely gorgeous and first-class. It has a great little wedding chapel on the lava overlooking the Bay (and the sunset) - a perfect spot for that million dollar plus wedding you've been putting off.
The rooms were really clean, smelled fresh and we had fresh linen and a thorough vaccuming every day. As someone with allergies, this was very welcome.
The pool is great - Its really two pools that have been connected, and it has two levels - a kiddle beach, a chanel connecting up the two pools. And best of all it has a really nice waterslide with at least 4 180-degree curves.
The other thing that was really cool is you can see Manta Rays from the deck by the bar at night. They have had a light there for years, and it attracts plankton. Its quite a site. Also if you are really into it, theres grea
