Review content:
Oregon Engine Rebuilders were pleasant to work with and built my Toyota 22R long block engine in about 8 days. Simple and easy to work with, all details were explained to me clearly. They shipped the engine to my mechanic in Seattle for $150, $600 core deposit, and $150 core return from Seattle. The Seattle mechanic remarked that this was the most complete long block he had ever worked with. He was surprised that the engine not only included a complete gasket set, but the valve clearances were already completely adjusted in advance. Once the engine was installed, it cranked first time and required no adjustment. The biggest surprise for me, personally, was the price of the engine--which, at $1,195, came in significantly below the price of other less complete long blocks--and the ease at ordering and shipping it. \r

As in all cases like this, the buyer should be able to speak with some modicum of engine knowledge to be able to ask all the right questions. If the buyer has no particular engine knowledge, he or she should get an experienced friend to make the call and ask the appropriate questions.\r

As is always the case, you have to take certain integral parts in faith when you do this: I have no idea, for example, what condition the head is in. It should be, at the very lease, planed and undamaged in any way by pitting, etc. For the price it will certainly do, I am sure.
