My brother and I were taking care of our parent?s home and animals while they were out of state with other family when one of their cats, O.K., had some sort of seizure. My brother found her in the living room floor, flailing and thrashing around. After a quick call to our parents, we put her in my car and rushed her to Animal Emergency and Referral Center. Dr. Clemmons had her taken immediately to the ICU and examined her while we were filling out paperwork. When the doctor came to speak to us, the news was not good. It seems O.K. had had a neurological occurrence, one from which it did not seem she would recover easily. After reviewing our options and speaking with our parents, it was decided to humanely euthanize her. None of us wanted to leave her to suffer. The staff we dealt with and spoke to that evening, including the doctor, were all very kind and professional. They listed our cremation or burial options and helped us make an informed decision. Every single person on staff that night made a point of telling us how sorry they were for our loss. We felt that our cat was treated with respect, just as much respect as we were. Heaven forbid, if I or my family needs the services offered by the doctors at Animal Emergency and Referral Center, we will not hesitate to return. I am very glad they were there to help our cat in her time of need.
