My daughter went there to get her timing belt and water pump replaced per scheduled maintenance. After she got her vehicle back she had to drive to Gastonia where her accessory belt came loose and started squealing. She almost lost control as the steering wheel became very stiff and hard to control. I had to drive all the way down there to see if I could find the issue. When I got there and opened the hood I saw little gobs of rubber sealant everywhere and then noticed it oozing out about a quarter inch from the new water pump. My heart sank as I knew the type of work that was probably done. Sure enough the belt tension pulley lock nut was left loose and the belt came loose. I tightened these items and we drove home. On the way home I noticed the temp gauge stayed on cold so that wasn't working either. Now that its light outside I went to check out what the issue may be and notice the temp sensor sending unit plug was left off. I also noticed: The intake vacuum lines were barely on the housing and the clamps not put back into position, the air intake hose was complete loose and dangling by the one bolt holding against the radiator, sanding pads and spilled anti-freeze down on the pan guard, and the coolant was a half gallon low. I called and asked for the owner and after some run around the guy who answered the phone went and got him. He answered the phone "What do you need bossman??" After telling him about my issues and he did apologize but insisted that everything was checked before it left the shop. The customer is always wrong mentality. I asked about the sanding discs and he informed me they use them to grind the old gaskets off the water pump surface. After a long debate he insisted that all shops grind off the old gasket then use permatex sealant to put the new water pump in place. I would not recommend using them.
