Review content:
About 1.5 years ago, Shamrock re-piped our home, installed a new water filtration system and a new water heater. We were very satisfied with their service. Last week, I called for service as we were experiencing warm water after running the hot water for a couple of minutes. Customer service stated they would send a technician out to review the problem; she stated it was probably a bad element on the hot water heater and quoted a price. I was very surprised of the cost, as relatively new equipment had malfunctioned so quickly and the 6-yr warranty did not cover this part. I spoke to Mark Norman, the owner, who stated that manufactures are not building them the way they used to--as they weren’t making any money; we were lucky that our previous heater lasted almost 20 years. Unfortunately, the repair part/service was about 44% of the replacement cost. The service technician, Christopher Jeffreys, replaced upper/lower elements and thermostats; he was pleasant, knowledgeable, and was able to rebuild the hot water heater within an hour. Hopefully the heater will be free of repairs for at least 6-years.
Thank you.
