I thought the days of auto service departments scamming customers were over...NOT! Was informed that my vehicle was almost due for a manufacturer's recommended 20,000 mile service so I agreed to have the service done earlier, at approximately 18,000 miles, in order to avoid having it completed during the winter months. After returning home and viewing the maintenance reference guide, I realized that the service perform was not required at all. It appears that it was just a way to profit off a customer who had been trusting.
