DO NOT TRUST THIS GUY! HE IS A CROOK! This guy (the owner of Optimal Appliance Service) came to look at a dryer that wasn't heating. This was one day before my wife, recovering from stage 4 cancer, was going into surgery. We need clean linens on the bed and towels for her recovery. He was also made aware of this after she told him how important the dryer was because of the surgery. He said it was the timer assembly, which would cost 285 parts and labor (the part he claimed was $135). So i went on amazon that night and got the part for 65 bucks with two day delivery. I got the part in, and the wife came home from the hospital that Sunday. I put the new timer in, and it still wouldn't heat up. So I decided to look at the heating coils and I realized the guy took the thermostat out of the dryer and left with it! He knew that was the bad part the whole time. After a few days of trying to get him to return my call I finally texted him and told him to bring back the thermostat and leave it on the front porch...which he eventually did two days later. Fortunately, I had decided he wasn't trustworthy after day 1, and ordered the thermostat as well. I put in the new thermostat ($7.23) in, and the dryer works again. yeah! But, something was nagging me...why did he take the thermostat in the first place? So at about midnight, I got up and put my old (supposedly bad) timer back in the dryer, and behold, the dryer is working. It was never the timer...it was a 7 dollar part he wanted to get a recovering cancer patient to pay 285 bucks for! What a scumbag! This was fraudulent and theft. This story is going everywhere....he messed with the wrong guy
