Driving from Philadelphia to a new job in Madison, my car overheated. Tow driver insisted on using Pep Boys in State College despite middling to poor expereince with several service locations in PHL - first mistake. Got water pump diagnosis after 1 1/2 hours, by 4 pm Friday. Asst Tom (attitude?) tries to manage my expectations by saying it will take 5 /12 hrs and besides flush/fill will also need new fan clutch. Good news is they finished in 2 1/2 hours, $729 later. Work did get me 800 miles to Madison but I noticed coolant leaking upon arrival. \r

Called mgr Mike; offers if I call closest Pep Boys 90 miles away AND they will tow my car to their shop, and IF THEY determine the part installed is faulty, then Pep Boys picks up the bill. When I asked if a garage in Madison could determine if the part and PB's work was faulty, he declined. PB wants to be judge and jury of how good their work is. I can't afford that risk after not only PB's inability to do the work right for me thi
