I have never written an online review but I am writing to hopefully save some from similar anguish. I actually had my lawyer request a court-ordered family psychological evaluation because my former spouse has a long history of severe mental health issues. I naively thought this court-ordered process would help my case for custody. I also naively thought Dr. Bashkoff would review the extensive history of med records documenting addictions and mental health issues to include attempted suicide, DUIs, arrests, multiple domestic violence incidents, etc. and realize that this person was incapable of taking care of themselves, let alone two children. Instead of analyzing this documentation and making a logical and reasonable recommendation that this person should have limited custody, Dr. Bashkoff instead made a custody recommendation based on lies from my former spouse. Because Dr. Bashkoff believed the lies instead of the extensive records, she recommended to the court that my ex-spouse was "more responsible with the children" therefore should have full custody with me seeing them only every other weekend. Ironically, within hours of this recommendation, my former spouse went out to celebrate the "victory" at the bars and ended up with another DUI arrest. Only after this incident, the court requested a reevaluation giving Dr. Bashkoff a "redo". Dr. Bashkoff then changed her recommendation to the court solely because the other parent would likely lose their license and ability to transport the children. To further show how incapable and irresponsible Dr. Bashkoff is at evaluating serious psychological disorders and providing custody recommendations, the parent she said was "more responsible with the children" has since seen a revolving door with jail, rehab, and binges and only has only seen the children but a few times in years. In the end, it worked out for the best interest of the children despite the ineptness and inadequacies Dr. Bashkoff. Highly recommend you find someone else.
