Beware of Dr. Rogers! Our dog started to get ill. He was breathing rapidly; constantly panting, stopped eating, started lying around & throwing up. We took him to Critter Fixers and the Vet didn't even check his lungs, all he did was blood work at a note of $210.00. No X-ray was done, he never listened to him with a stethoscope and blood results showed that they were within the normal range but on the low side of normal. Checked for heart worms and it showed negative. He told us that our dog was depressed and that he was the healthiest ""sick"" dog he has ever seen. Then he just added a years? worth of heartworm preventative (2 packages -at 6 months of dosages each package at the tune of $70 each package) without asking if we wanted to buy both packages. By the time we left the bill was $544.00 just to tell us our dog wasn't ill. Once home he was still acting funny, his breathing got worse every day and he started sleeping a lot. Even though we spent a lot of time with him on a normal basis, we spent more time giving him extra affection and he kept withdrawing. I was getting more worried by the day. We took him to another vet and in they listened to his lungs & heart and said his breathing was extremely labored so she took an x-ray and found that his lungs and chest cavity were filled with fluid and she couldn't even see his heart in the x-ray as there was so much fluid surrounding his heart. The x-ray also showed a mass of abnormal cells. He was slowly drowning in his own fluid and suffering. She withdrew 4 large syringes of fluid from his lungs and chest only to find that there was also blood in his lungs and chest and the urine specimen showed high amounts of protein and blood in it as well. We called the vet to ask for our money back as he didn't perform his job properly and misdiagnosed his problem. He argued and lied to us saying that he did listen to his chest and offered an ultrasound and that we chose not to. I CAN'T BELIEVE HE LIED TO US LIKE THAT....WE WERE THERE AND HE NEVER LISTENED TO HIS CHEST OR OFFER AN ULTRASOUND OR WE WOULD HAVE DONE THAT! We were already $500.00 into bill so why wouldn't we go through the rest to cover all areas! That is why we brought him, to find out what is wrong! Dr. Rogers refused to return even a partial amount of the money. At first they said we could bring back the heartworm preventative and after we spoke to the vet, they wouldn't let us return the medicine. $140.00 for a years? worth of medicine and no pet to give it to. The reason for this review is that the 2nd vet we went to did her due diligence and we had to euthanize poor Camo. However if Dr. Rogers would have done his due diligence the result would have been the same only Camo wouldn't have suffered drowning in his own fluids for another week. I am filing a complaint with the BBB and any veterinary association I can! Beware of this vet. I am not the only disappointed customer and a heartbroken one at that. Make sure you read the reviews before taking your loved one to the Vet.
