Our furnace died at about 3pm on 11-03-10. I Googled for heating contractors, saw the great reviews, and called Air Quality & Beyond. He came out by about 4:30pm, assessed our situation and determined that our 18-year-old furnace was no longer safe to operate. Air Quality & Beyond then did a complete load assessment of our home, went to the office to crunch the numbers, and had a hard price back to me via e-mail by about 8pm. The technician proposed replacing our oversized 147000 btu 78% efficent Carrier furnace and A-coil with a properly sized 70000 btu 95% efficent Lennox furnace and A-coil and would have the new unit installed and operating the next day, The total installed price was slightly more than double the wholesale cost (I checked) of the materials (furnace, A-coil, thermostat, intake and vent stacks, condensate pump).
