Director and the grandma aren't personable people. Really none of the teachers I've met there are. I came in for my son's first day last year and after ringing the bell several times, someone finally came to answer the door. Claimed they couldn't hear the bell right next to them. I said, this is ___, it's his first day here. The director and a teacher just looked at me. I said, uh, what room is he in and where does his stuff go? The director walked off and the teacher was like, oh, he's in this room and just pointed behind her. The teacher in that room actually spoke to us. She was great. Then my son moved to the school ager room when he started kindergarten. There are kids ranging from 5 to 12, no structured activity, they just throw them in the big room and let them do what they want. The "teachers" usually convene together at the table and talk and I don't think they pay much attention to the kids. There have been several older kids there through the year that bully and beat up on the littler kids and not much is done. My son has been shoved to the ground outside, kicked, punched, has had sand thrown in his face, has been thrown onto the hard tile in the kid's room, had balls thrown at his face and all the while, where are the people in charge? Several times I have witnessed the teachers on their phones while the kids are playing on the playground. Most of the time, again, the people watching the kids are sitting at the table talking amongst each other with their backs to the kids on the playground equipment.
My child is now in counseling because of the anger and hurt that has been caused by the bullies and by the teachers not listening when he gets hurt by someone. My child does very well at elementary school and never had an incident, so it seems to me, he is not the problem. Don't try bringing a problem to the director, she blows you off. She and the teachers in my child's room have spoken to me maybe 10 times in the year we have been there. My child has to tell me when he's been hurt or sent to time out
