2/3 of everyone's things were GONE.\r \r Me and 3 other Hendrix students decided to split a unit. We opted for a combination lock so we could get into the unit whenever we wished, independent of each other. We used it from December - August. In December, a couple of days after the unit was in use, there was no lock on the unit. I purchased TWO more for added security, with no help from Downtown Self Storage. One of us visited in May, and both locks were gone, and our bikes were gone. Downtown Self Storage did NOT reimburse us for a lock, and did not give us one of their locks for free. I was very disappointed.\r \r The man we talked to was a much older man. I called him up in May after the second break-in, and he put a lock on the unit until August. In August, he said he did not remember when I called in May. He said he was old, and didn't have good memory. As if me or my friends cared -- our stuff was gone, forever. My yoga mat, my lamp shades, my friend's luggage with cash and checks in it, multiple boxes...\r \r I gave him two dates, spanning around a month and a half, for him to check the camera footage. He said he would, and get back to me. He never did. I followed up in August, and he said the footage probably would have recorded over itself and he could not find it. Oh, what a helpful man, isn't he?\r \r \r SO, there is no security at Downtown Self Storage. No one checks the security cameras. No one cares about your possessions, and they are not motivated to help you. Try Waller Security Storage instead.
