Sandy, UT location\r
I took my 12yr old Havanese in because she has at least 2 teeth that need to be pulled and she is having problems eating. I was told she wasn't running a fever (which I had checked at home before) and I told them that I just needed to set up a dental and blood work would have to be done due to her age.\r
They told me that the best thing would be a $395 plan (plus the $34.95 one time fee). I have a plan for one of my dogs already and don't want another $35 charge every month for something I won't use. \r
They said the blood work would be about $170+ then 250+ for the dental, plus some possible other misc charges, plus $100-$173 per tooth.\r
I had my records from another local vet and on it was the charges I paid recently for my dog for the same work (he was 11) that had been $52 for blood work up and $183 for the dental work which included 4 extractions.\r
REALLY WHAT A RIP OFF. The explanation I was given was that it was ""corporate"". Sorry that doesn't justify gouging the public for care of our pets.\r
Additionly, they charged me $39 for today just to tell me how much they would charge. I am telling everyone I know that Banfield is not a place to take your pet. They sound reasonable but they are just a bate and switch operation.\r
I had enrolled one of my pugs in a plan - I AM CANCELLING IT; I had my pug puppy as one of your clients (not on a plan yet since he is not being neutered) - HE WILL NOT BE BACK\r
I have 2 other dogs that will never be brought into a Banfield Hospital.\r
I have 2 cats - one recently had a declaw that cost me appx $270, but they sent a cone home to prevent him from chewing his paws that I later was told by one of the check-in staff really is a poor design and doesn't work. The result of that little mishap on the part of the staff, cost me another $300+ when I had to bring him in 4 days later for a second surgery since he had pulled the stitches out and gotten an infection in one toe on the right paw and 4 on the left. They had to take more bone on the left and even after a month my poor cat is still limping on the left. So, I have paid about $700 and still my cat is in pain - NOT GOOD CARE IN MY OPINION BUT I WAS WILLING TO CHALK\r
\r
IT UP TO JUST A MISTAKE, THEN I HEAR FROM OTHER CAT OWNERS THAT THEY WERE TOLD TO STAY AWAY FROM BANFIELD FOR MAJOR SURGERIES.\r
\r
\r
You just lost the care of 4 dogs and 2 cats, plus everyone that I can tell not to come to you.
