Aamco was suggested to me by another mechanic shop that does not specialize in transmissions. I had my expectations set based on several calls to transmission shops around town. I was quoted from $1850 to $2350 for rebuilding the transmission. Aamco of Elpaso offered me another option, a Remanufactured Transmission from the Aamco Transmission factory that comes with a 3 year unlimited mile warranty for $2399 installed. So basically for an extra $50 dollars I got a new transmission with 2 more years nationwide warranty. The competition only offered a 1 year local warranty. I feel good about the choice I made, because I travel. The work was completed in 4 days which I felt was pretty good for a major repair. The vehicle runs like new now, so I am pleased with the work. Also the staff was very friendly.
