I had been using Van's for my tires for many years. They seemed to do an ok job with the tires, though we never really shopped their prices. My wife began to have them do the oil changes and she asked them to check her brakes. We were getting ready to do a out of state trip and wanted to make sure they were ok. The mechanic said they were about half on the pads so were in good shape and would check them next time we came in. We left for the trip one week after and 2 days into it the breaks started rubbing and it was obvious there was an issue. We had it checked in Nashville and they told us it was metal to metal. We were one day left and we just figured we would wait till we were home and take it back to Van's. We found out after Van's looked at it that the mechanic only checked the back breaks NOT the front. Their price was $1300 for the brakes because they said everything needed replaced. I was so upset when they told me there was nothing they would do that I took it to my normal mechanic. The price for the same brake job was $452. This place might be ok for tires but NEVER have their mechanics touch anything else on your car. They lost a 10 year plus customer and I will never go back there. The worse thing is we have 4 drivers in my house and they didn't even seem to want to work something out. They didn't care if they lost a customer.
