Jeff Landress of LAW Auto is a liar, coward, and a cheat. His business practices are deplorable and the only positive of him refusing to finish the work he started on my car is that I won’t have to deal with him anymore or ever see him again. He doesn’t give straight answers, he doesn’t return phone calls, texts, or emails, and he lacks the common decency that small business owners in Nashville should have.\r \r I brought my car in to his shop in late February 2015. My engine in my Honda was shot and I went a long with Jeff’s suggestion to replace the motor. From the very beginning, Jeff offered me a 30,000 mile warranty with a “new” used Honda motor that he said had about 50,000 miles on it. My car sat at his shop for over a week before he even got to it and then it took over a week for the job to even get done. I know shops can be busy, but Jeff was not honest about the estimated time.\r \r I got the car back with the “new” engine and right as I drove away from the shop, I knew something was wrong. The car rattled and shook. It would shake violently when coming to a stop and a grinding sound could be heard when my vehicle was coasting. I thought “Did anyone even test drive this thing?” I brought it back into the shop and after another week of the car just sitting there (while I took a cab to work everyday), I called and Jeff said he would get to it the next day. Another lie. \r \r He called me the day he started to work on it and told me that he would be charging me another $400 for doing something that he said he included in the first round of repairs. Not cool, but what am I supposed to do? Long story short, I get the car back and it STILL shakes like crazy. I can’t believe it. So a few days later, I set it up to get it back into the shop, and Jeff told me he would have a rental car for me to use. Sounds great…\r \r Until I called Jeff to confirm that day that I was bringing it in and he told me that he wouldn’t have the rental car available. When I asked why, he actually yelled at me!! I was in my office and was not in a position to have a yelling match with an already incompetent mechanic. I knew what kind of person I was dealing with after the guy screamed at me over the phone. Seriously, what kind of small business owner does that?\r \r I bring the car in once again and it takes about a week for Jeff to even look at my car. He tells me that he put the wrong motor mounts in last time and it will be a few days for the correct ones to be delivered. So, his mistake, that he charged me an extra $400 for, needed to be fixed! He then said the work is complete, so I come to pick it up. Again, the car still shakes, rattles, and grinds. Do they even test drive the vehicles they work on? They easily would know where the problem lies if they just drove it. \r \r This has been an ongoing ordeal and if I had the money, I would have gone to a different mechanic as soon as possible. Because Jeff did the engine replacement and said we had a 30,000 mile warranty, I stuck with him. This all started in late February 2015 and now it’s August 2015 and still no sign of Jeff. I’ve called him, texted him, emailed him, and done everything I could have done to get him to fix his mistakes. The car still shakes, rattles, and grinds. I have asked him repeatedly to put the 30,000 mile warranty in writing, and he always brushed it off. \r \r The WORD of Jeff Landress means nothing. If you are looking for an honest, trustworthy mechanic that will fix your car quickly, LAW Auto is not it! Trust me. This is the first review I’ve ever written for a small business and I just felt compelled to share my experience with Jeff from LAW Auto. There is a lot of other BS that I went through with Jeff, but this review is already really long and I think you get the picture. Save yourself the trouble…there are easier people to deal with here in town. Thanks for reading. Good luck.
