Review content:
I've had to live with Centurytel for 9 years now. 8 on Vashon Island, and now, I've moved to Gig Harbor, CenturyTel's home town, and it's even worse here.
We had a bad DSL modem. We spent 3 hours on the phone over as many days, trying to get them to believe that the modem was bad. They sent someone out, who visited without warning. We had been told we would hear from them within 24-48 hours and they just expected us to stay home for 2 days. When they dropped in, our 14 year old was the only one here. He had no idea what was going on. So we had to wait another day. When they finally came, the guy thought he knew what was wrong, but admitted he couldn't figure it out. It had always been intermittent. It started to work again, and he left. Three hours later it stopped again.
I WANT to use small local companies for ALL my needs. But I had to go to Comcast for broadband. I work from home and can't afford this kind of whacky service from such a primary service provider.
