Review content:
I grew up in West Harrison/ Silver Lake in the 80s and 90s. I made wonderful friends and experienced the Best times along the shops and restaurants on the main strip.
Almost 20 years later, I am in town with family for the saddest times of our lives. Regardless of the occassion, I was blindsided by the rudest salesperson/owner of a business I have ever encountered.
I went into the shop to browse for a gift and was asked if we wanted something. My sister said we were just looking, although my mom was interested in buying a trinket. While my mom was looking around I commented to the woman behind the counter that we haven't been In the store In a long time and how I Remember it being called the Jottery.
Instead of pleasant conversation (the store was empty besides my family), I was told in a stern rude voice that "this was NOT the Jottery."
I immediately thought I misheard but responded with "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you."
I expected a smile and an of "course not sort of answer."
What I received was "well you did offend me.!"
At the point I couldn't believe her attitude and walked out without the over priced purchase that can be found for 1/4 of the price at a TJMaxx.
I prefer to spend money in small businesses but this incident bothered me so much that I felt I needed to share to prevent anyone from spending money in such an awful shop..... Oh excuse me, in such a "high end pharmacy and gift shop", which is how she referred to her business.
