Review content:
Kristine Kay is unprofessional. I made two appointments with her for lash lift and tint. The first appointment started 20 minutes late for an hour long appointment because she was running behind. I was willing to forgive that experience. During my wait time I took in my surroundings of the waiting area. It's an old home which has been transformed into her business but doesn't seem to be maintained with any amount of pride. Not a huge deal, but I tend to appreciate somebody who offers aesthetic services to maintain an aesthetically pleasing portrayal of herself and her business. Both of those were relatively unkempt.
The service she provided on the first appointment was satisfactory. It was my first time receiving a lash lift or tint and I expected her to communicate to me what she was doing and how the process worked. She didn't offer and when I asked questions, I received clipped answers and could hear her on her phone throughout my appointment (your eyes are taped shut). But the results were good to me - though I have no basis of comparison.
The 2nd time I arrived 5 min early and was stuck outside of the building for 20 minutes since it was locked and there is no doorbell. When she finally answered my multiple phone calls and answered the door, she told me she didn't have the appointment and she was booked. She admitted multiple times it was her fault, and asked me to come back later for a free service. I didn't have time that day and left, quickly calling her and leaving a voicemail saying I would let her "make it right" and what day worked for me. To which she responded via text:
Kristine Kay: Emily - It appears that there was some miscommunication. You did not respond to my text for 2 days. Then you assumed that the appointment time was still available. My schedule gets booked up quickly. In the future, you should make sure that you receive a confirmation from me.
Myself: I don't believe I will be making appointments with you in the future given today's experience, and that we started our first appt 20min late. I lead a busy life and appreciate punctuality and professionalism from vendors I do business with. If you claim to take appts via text, you should probably be more careful and thorough in reading your texts. It was your mistake that you have now compounded by placing the blame with me.
Kristine Kay: I am an Artist not a vendor.
I have never written a review before but felt there was a level of unprofessionalism that I would have appreciated knowing about before having my time wasted on two separate occasions and then receiving catty comments via text message. There are plentiful options available in lash design now. Bottom line: take your money to someone who is respectful of their clients and takes pride in their business.
2 stars bc I was okay with the results I did receive but ultimately not worth the runaround from Kristine Kay... "The Artist."
