I took my dog Lucy to see Dr. Mike Vitucci for the first time because she could not get up from a laying position by herself. My other dog, Casey had jumped on the bed & landed on Lucy's leg. I thought for sure that major damage had been done to Lucy's knee & leg.I thought for sure that we were going to be talking about several thousand dollars worth of surgery when I walked in the door. However, upon examination, Dr Mike said that he did not think that there was anything major wrong & he did not feel that an x-ray was needed or other tests. He could feel no tares & Lucy allowed him to examine her leg without getting upset. His suggestion to me was for Lucy to loose weight. She is a beagle/dashhound mix & she weighed in at 74.4 lbs. He suggested I start Lucy on Slentrol a medication for assisting with weight loss in dogs. I started the medication because diet dog food by itself was not working. Lucy has been on the medicine for 7 months & has lost 24.7% of her body weight. She is now
