While re-doing the roof in our 4 unit building, there was a horrible leak in my bedroom that resulted in the ceiling needing to be ripped out and re done to fix the water damage. We couldn't live at home and it was a disaster. When we approached the company about what had happened, the owner insisted we should continue with the roof work and he would pay for all the construction needed to repair our unit. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a lie, as several hours later he went back on his promise and said it would be our responsibility even though a) he had promised and b) the roof wasn't sealed properly by his company and allowed rain water to get in. He continued to insist it wasn't his responsibility even though he had promised to pay for the repairs. I felt the owner's dishonesty and arrogance shown through in the way he spoke to me and through a series of following events my instincts were correct as he tried to manipulate the company we hired to repair the ceiling into saying the water damage was old-but the company we hired stated to us in person and in writing that it was all new. I would not hire this company- I do not believe them to be honest or trustworthy.
