I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AC WAREHOUSE TO MY ENEMIES..and I hope that anyone who does get an estimate from them calls Tim at Thompson's Air Conditioning. If not to install or fix your system but at least to get a REAL HONEST opinion on what you need. YOU WILL NOT GET THAT FROM GARTH, AT AC WAREHOUSE. He figured he had a sucker! \r
My air conditioner would not come on on Saturday. It was working on Wednesday. I called AC Warehouse in Sarasota. Kim dispatched Garth and he came that same day. After a few minutes of investigation Garth told me that I was pretty much out of luck. My system was rusted through, I had no freon in my system due to probable pin holes in the copper coils, pointed out the extreme rust on the air handler and said a hole was rusted through outside. I had the present system installed so I knew how old it was. Garth wrote up a proposal for a new 4 ton system that would be either Comfortmaster (never heard of them) for $7,017 for a 14 seer or $6,250 for a 13 seer, with all the buttons and bells included, with the rebate factored in and they could do it first thing on Monday. Garth was friendly and jovial. Wanting to be a responsible consumer I called another company for a second opinion and estimate.\r
Guess what? Within 5 minutes and 3 questions, Tim, from Thomson's Air \r
Conditioning had the system blowing cold air. He discovered that the thermostat needed 2 AA batteries which we put in and the system started right up and blowing cold air. The thermostat was not communicating with the unit because of the batteries. He checked my complete system and said that all pressures looked good and that there was no problem with the system other than the batteries. TIM DID NOT CHARGE ME, even though he came all the way from Bradenton. He did give me a quote for a new system though, because my system is getting on in years. The quote was for a 4 ton system, all buttons and bells and rebate factored in, but it was for a Rudd 16 seer unit, for $5,183. \r

YOU WILL NOT GET THAT FROM GARTH, AT AC WAREHOUSE. He figured he had a sucker! I will continue to tell family and friends about Thompson's Air Conditioning. It is not always easy to find honest contractors. Tim Thompson is definitely one I will recommend to everyone.
