We moved from Charlotte to Atlanta in september 2014. Like several other moving companies we received estimates from, Principle Moving wanted an estimate of items moved. They use somewhat vague descriptions such as “large box”, “small box”, etc. I decided to measure all of my boxes and calculate the cubic footage and send it to Tim (the salesman). In retrospect I’m not sure if this was the best way to do it but it worked for the most part. Somehow I underestimated the amount of cubic footage we would need. When the truck arrived the driver would not drive into the apartment complex. Even though there was an entry driveway and an exit driveway and he would not have to turn around he thought the turns were too tight. For this reason I had to pay an extra $15 because they were going to have to park on the street and have to carry everything 200 feet to the apartment. When it was all done we found that we were missing two items. One was an old hand truck which I didn’t want anyway. I can kind of imagine how it could get left at the storage facility as they probably have many handtrucks there. The second thing was a NutriBullet food processor. I had packed the NutriBullet in it’s original packaging so that was my mistake. I should have put in into an unmarked box. I called the warehouse manager and he said he would look for the missing items and call me back but he never did. In retrospect, I feel if I had known then what I know now it would have been a less stressful experience. Overall I feel they did do a good job with the exception of the lie about the 30 days of storage. I feel I could have paid better attention to the fact that the truck was 53 ft and did a better job of estimating the space I needed. And of course packed the NutriBullet better. In the end I would recommend PM for your moving needs.
