Review content:
I was driving along to meet my hubby for lunch since I never get that chance, when my truck wouldn't go above 20 mph. I felt relieved when I saw an auto repair shop (Tunex) listed on my google maps app on my phone, showing only 2 miles ahead. I got to Tunex and parked. There wasn't any other customers there, and the mechanics were all just shootin' the breeze in the shop. The man behind the desk asked how he could help. I explained my problem, and he said they would take a look at it. I called my husband to let him know, and he came and picked me up. They said they would call once they figured out the problem and cost.\r \r After nearly 4 hours, they finally called and said my spark plugs were shot, among many other issues. They also said the catalytic converter was giving them an error, but they wouldn't know the cost to fix that, or how bad it was until they got and started working on it. He said just to get the beginning issues fixed, it would be $1000, and that didn't count the converter. I questioned this because some of the parts they said needed to be replaced, had been replaced within the past year. I had purchased a past car from Low Book Sales in Salt Lake, and they had always taken care of any issues I had had when it came to my car. I knew I could trust their service department. I called and had them quote me a price over the phone of what it would take. They towed my truck, did a free diagnostics, fixed the actual problems (the spark plugs), and the catalytic converter all for under $800!!! NEVER use Tunex, unless you like throwing away all your money. Oh yea, and Tunex charged me $75 for their diagnostics test, and couldn't even tell me what the damage or cost on the converter was, or would be. RIP OFF con-artists!!!
