If there was an option for negative stars this store would have it . I took my ring in here to get sized from a 7 to a 6 1/4. They said it would be 32.00. They called me a couple of days later to say it was done but there was a problem . They said when they put it in the cleaning machine several prongs broke and some stones fell out. They asked if I wanted the stones back in a separate bag. I was dumbfounded and shocked. I said what ??? They said it will be very expensive to fix . I said so what ? You broke it you need to fix it! When I dropped it off it was fine ! They said when prongs get old they can become weak . I said the ring is less than two years old. I have rings I've had for 15 years and have never had a problem. I said you need to fix it. They said ok. We went into pick it up, and the charge was five times the original cost to size. My fiancé told them The ring needed to be fixed at their cost since they broke it. The man working said he would keep the ring if we didn't pay. The man became very loud and angry. My fiancé said it's no different than if I drop my car off to have the oil changed and then you decide to wash it then something falls onto the hood and puts a big dent in it, he said in that situation in the car was your responsibility it is your responsibility to fix it. The man at James line jewelers said that's different then this . My fiancée said it's not different. He then asked him if he inspected it after he sized it to see if any of the prongs loosened and he said no I didn't inspect it and that wouldn't happen ! My fiancée paid for the ring and advised him we would see him in court, which we will be filing at the magistrate. These people are incompetent thieves . Usually I use Mountz jewelers who are top notch . Mountz inspects my rings before every cleaning . The only reason I didn't use Mountz this time is because I read an article in the Sentinel about James line jewelers having 45 years of experience and fixing everything in the house . Wow were they wrong . Do not use James Line Jewelers. They don't inspect their work , your jewelry and then don't stand behind the damage they cause , and threaten to hold my ring hostage until I pay them for repairing what they broke !!!!
