I hated having to give them 1 star.........wish there was a NO STAR!!! After the May 2nd flood, I contacted Hermitage Heating and Air to look at our HVAC unit that was surrounded by water. When I called, I specifically asked if they gave free estimates and if they billed insurance companies. The lady said ""Yes"" and I gave her our insurance information. The technician came to our home, looked at the unit, did NOT do any work to it, told my husband ""seems to be working for now"" withOUT doing any testing or touching it and asked my husband for a payment of $75 for service fee or he could pay $125 for a ""yearly maintenance"". After being there literally 5 minutes or less, my husband obviously called me upset and asked that I call their office to find out what was going on and why they were charging us for NOTHING! I told the lady that she said there would be no charge to come look at it, and her response was ""well, we'll bill it to your insurance company"". They did bill it to the insurance company, but the insurance company did not pay it as the insurance company had already settled the claim with me. Now, a woman calls my husband at 8 a.m. this morning, EXTREMELY RUDE, YELLING AND SCREAMING saying he has 30 days to pay the $75 or Hermitage Heating and Air was putting a lien on our property. He calmly tried explaining to her we are NOT paying anything considering they did not provide us with any type of service and if the insurance didn't pay them we certainly will not. Ever time he spoke she rudely interrupted and kept saying multiple times she was filing a lien on the property. At that point after my husband could not speak and took her verbal abuse, he hung up! I am appalled with this whole experience!!! It's unfortunate that we were flood victims, this company now trying to take advantage of us by billing us erroneously, and then the customer service representatives from this company literally screaming and yelling as if she was about to get in a street fight with my husband........over $75! I wonder how many other people have been lied to about their ""service fee"" and charged an outrageous price to drive 2.4 miles, look at a unit (without touching it) for less than 5 minutes, and then harass them?!?! ADVISE EVERYONE TO AVOID AT ALL COSTS...........EXTREMELY RUDE RIP OFF!\r
